The plan? Sleep in and enjoy the day without a plan. After all, this is retirement!
I woke up about quarter til five. Although I did go back to sleep for a bit, I was up at 5:30. So much for sleeping in.
Might as well get up and be productive. I decided to take advantage of the cool quiet morning and clean up the drive and walks. It was bemusing to just watch as others hustled to work. Once the drive and walks were looking better – no more whirlybirds or miniature maples trying to grow in the cracks – the grass was much too long. So, I mowed. Much better.
It was still morning, so we went to the park. When we got home, I needed to call about our water heater which apparently was tired of holding all that water. I guess this is part of retirement, as well – no need to take an emergency day!
By afternoon, it was nap time – something unheard of for decades. But I wasn’t alone.
